Hong Kong

Welcome to Hong Kong, a melange of multimillion dollar sky scrapers, house-boats, and all that those extremes represent. Formerly under the rule of Britain, this city rejoined the P.R.C. in July, 1997.

A jumble of skyscapers in the financial district of Hong Kong Island. This is an expensive place to find a room. If you didn't bring your suit and tie, you might want to catch a ferry to Kowloon.

House boats in the harbor. These are one reason that Hong Kong Harbor suffers from severe pollution.

Chinese religion meets British booze at this oddly placed shrine.

Pack your socks underwear and toothbrush, because it's time to board the train for a 36 hour, nonstop ride to Nanjing .
